Hokkaido Ramen Dojo
The Hokkaido Ramen Dojo is located on the restaurant floor on the 4th floor of New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido. Ramen shops gathered from all over Hokkaido, so it’s irresistible for ramen freaks. Most are miso ramen shops, but there are also salt ramen shops. Customers always line up in front of the shrimp ramen “Ichigen”.
There is a “Ramen Republic” at Sapporo Station. The design is reminiscent of the 60’s. The Aeon Haebaru store in Okinawa has a similar purpose section. The 1960s in Okinawa was the era of American rule. Even bigger is the Ramen Museum in Shin-Yokohama.
I think about Showa theme parks
It is clear that nostalgia for “Showa” is over 40s, or even born in the 30s of the Showa era. Born in the 1940s, I don’t know black-and-white TV. The Shinkansen was opened and the Tokyo Olympics were held before I was born. The Showa period in Japan is from 1925 to 1988.
My wife is fifteen years younger than me, my mother-in-law is fifteen years older. When these three people went to the Ramen Museum in Shin-Yokohama, the excitement was by age. There was a dial-type public telephone when I was little, but my wife never saw it. Black phone, analog record. It was a Heisei era when my wife felt really good, so it can’t be helped.
Return to the story. Ramen is a popular souvenir in Hokkaido. I’m glad this isn’t bulky in a compact box. Keyaki, Ichigen, Shirakaba Sanso, I think there were a few more stores. You can also eat these three stores at New Chitose Airport. Whenever I come to Hokkaido, I always eat ramen. However, I haven’t eaten ramen yet on this business trip. Before I board the plane is my last chance to eat ramen.
I left my luggage at the check-in counter and hurried to the fourth floor. There are only 45 minutes left until my flight. In other words, I have to pass the security inspection within 25 minutes. I quickly reached the Ramen Republic from the escalator.
Which ramen shop should I enter?
I have decided which menu to eat. Miso char siu white leek topping. I first enter “Keyaki”. It was just lunch time and the inside was crowded. There are no seats available. Next is Shirakaba Sanso. This is also my favorite ramen shop. The staff told me. We can prepare a seat for one person. Alright, let’s eat at this ramen shop today.
I was guided to the counter seat. When I sat down, I picked up a boiled egg in front of me. Boiled eggs are free at this ramen shop. Many customers don’t eat because they think it’s a charge. The clerk occasionally tells the customer that boiled eggs are free.
“Thank you for waiting. “
The clerk brought me a beer. Isn’t it wrong? Aside from my youth, it’s hard for me to drink alcohol during the day. “I haven’t ordered it.” I told the young female clerk. “That’s funny.” She muttered, tilting her head.
The ramen shop is full. The cook is busy waving the pot in the kitchen. I think that miso ramen is delicious only by shaking the pot one by one. Is it limited to four servings at a time? The number of bowl lined up gradually decreases. There is also a big bowl. It looks like 1.5 servings.
Finally, it was the turn of the bowl that seems to be mine. When the spoon was attached, it was brought in front of me.
“I’m sorry for the wrong order.”
Suddenly a male clerk called out to me. He mistakenly wrote beer on my slip. Did I look like I drank so much beer?
Miso char siu white leek topping
First I drank a sip of soup. The spicy miso taste spills into my stomach. As it says on the menu that is “rich and not so tiring”. This soup is often entwined with curly noodles. There are two types of char siu. One is dice char siu with a meaty taste like ham, and the other is sliced char siu with a juicy and refreshing taste. The savory grilled leek makes my mouth fresh. delicious. Since the chef shakes the pot one by one, the crispy texture of stir-fried vegetables complements the char siu to achieve a rich taste.
I don’t have time to fly. I finished eating ramen at a stretch. I’m satisfied. I also achieved the quota to eat ramen in Hokkaido. After that, let’s enjoy a long trip to Okinawa leisurely. What should I let my wife and daughter eat when I get home? I left the Ramen Dojo in anticipation of getting home.
